my non-voting this year should be seen as 'no party aligns with my ideology and nobody on this stage is representing me' and not how the system will probably see it as 'voter turn out is low again, people just don't care'
I would like to comment on the Senator in waiting election. Last time around I did not get one single piece of literature from any senate candidate. Not one candidate came to my door.
I did some minimal research on the candidates, in advance but at the end of the day not one candidate got a vote from me.
If you are running you should at least put in a effort.
Can CP keep track of any senate campaigning in this thread?
I would say that the above isn't typically required for a Canadian Senator is it?

Very unlikely that senate candidates will door knock. They have the entire province to cover. Their campaigns will take on a much different look than your local candidate.
If they do any D'king it will be one-off situations perhaps with media opportunities with local candidates.

I agree coverage seems to be lacking. So far I've only found that list I previously mentioned.

Not sure if you are serious, green text perhaps? If not, then I wish there was a no thanks button.
There is actually an Evergreen party senate candidate as well. I don't know the name of the person offhand, but its interesting if nothing else.
FL, you know what they say about birds of a feather! Link Byfield, Rob Anders, the list just goes on. As a favour to me, can you get me a ticket when Pat Buchanan comes to an event?
We keep getting calls from the Wildrose candidate (automated) and from polling organizations at dinner time, making me think our riding is in play - Calgary West. Should be interesting.

Its because the Wildrose is targeting Ken Hughes. Rob Ande, er make that Andrew something or other is running for the Wildrose there. He had released some attack ads this week that were pulled because they used a bunch of copyrighted material without permission.

On that note. Political parities are exempt from the DNC list, but if you want to be taken off Wildrose calls you can let us know at 1-888-262-1888.
I'm sure other parties offer this as well.

No, it's some guy named Andrew Longgreeklastname running as the Wildrose candidate here.

Really? That's awesome. Thanks for that.

I spent about thirty minutes writing up a post only to lose it after submitting.
In summary, I'd like to thank First Lady to creating this thread as I've been looking for a place to get the latest election news.
I shamefully haven't voted in provincial elections in a long time due to a combination of apathy and no legitimate alternatives on the Right. However, this election will change that as I am disgusted with what I've seen from the Tories since Redford took over. She's a conservative in name only and with the corruption and scandals that have taken place, I can only imagine what is being swept under the rug.
The Tories' arrogance and sense of entitlement have shaken me out of apathy. I've got my WRA lawn sign on order and will be making sure my family, who do not vote, will also be voting Wild Rose.
