Not only is it not an overpayment for Ferland, it's an underpayment for getting rid of most of Neal's contract.

That would be Calgary taking on a ~$1.5M cap hit until 2023 for a UFA they could sign/lose in off-season

I think the Flames will end up with just a vet dman. Who that is I won't bother to guess but these trade deadlines are always set up as massive deals, only to be let down by the talking heads discussing a Kevin Hayes deal for 3 hours until the next Joe trade is made.

I was going to predict this would be a disappointing trade deadline like usual with a few trades that don't live up to the hype but maybe this year will be different.

With the Ottawa and Columbus situations there could be at least 5 big names on the move with other dominoes falling after. I am going to predict we will finally get an exciting trade deadline day!
