Having it hang over the team is a distraction, what if Horvat got hurt?

Final Count now that the Islanders are elimated:

Horvat:
GP: 36, G: 8, A: 10, P: 18

Beauvillier
GP: 33, G:9, A: 11, P:20

I should have placed a bet on it...

The concerning part for the Islanders is that Horvat was brought in to be a play-off performer and just disappeared. He was non-existent in that series. When I watched, he looked disinterested and unengaged. What they gave up to get him is less of an issue than what they gave up to keep him if that's how he plays.

Like a guy who direly needs to work on his skating if he wants to play at the NHL level.

Horvats play down tge stretch and in the Playoffs was mind bottling. Unless hes injured. But I doubt it.

Its not really a surprise. Amped his game in his contract year. Moved and got paid. It's always disappointing to watch what a guy has as opposed to what he gives.

As we saw with Huberdeau changing teams and moving across the continent can take an adjustment period. He went from a team that played no defense to one that was committed to team defense. I'm kind of not surprised that he struggled. That said I would expect him to revert back to the 25 goal, 50 point player he's always been.

Extremely unlikely Raty is anywhere near that

He is also going to score 80 points this season and near 50 goals...guy is 27 not 37 he probably has a few good ones left
38 goal and 70 points.

50/80 indeed.
