How was it a outlier he was literally trending towards a 100 points the previous 3 seasons it was about to happen.
It's time people put some respeck on his name. He was the most consistent performer out of the 3 big names to change this off season. All of a sudden some idiot who no one even knows says he is the worst player ever and everyone thinks he is some bum.

He will be 30 to start that 8 yrs contract. It has a good chance of becoming a disaster and Treliving will for sure be remembered for it.

What are you basing this on? 50 games as a Flame?
The guy has been a ppg player for 4 years straight including the 115 point season last year. I'd say it has a better chance of becoming going rate in the NHL.
P.S. Your post history is embarrassing. Is there a Flame you haven't #### on in the last few years? Doesn't look like it.

Yes based on how he is doing now. That’s why I said he needs to turn around. 50 games is not a small sample.
So pointing out problems is embarrassing. Ok man

50 games in a 600 plus game career is a small sample size.

It's a valid fear
But he has as much a chance of being effective through 35/36 as the alternative
The last 2 years are probably guaranteed to be painful
I, like others, think he will be back at his normal clip by next season
He's just taking the eichel route and needs a season to get up to speed in a very different environment

All you ever do is point out problems...until the player goes elsewhere and then you love them
You wonder why people question your motives

In 20/21, he was on pace for 91 points over 82 games.
In 19/20, he was on pace for 92 points over 82 games.
In 18/19, he had 91 points in 82 games.
The 115 points he had last season was 25% higher than anything he had done previously in his career, so yes, that is an outlier.

My bad. I missed the, "just play better" positive vibes preamble.
You took a 7% game sample size of his production and then said, it has a "good chance" of becoming a disaster. Is that pointing out problems or creating them?

Fun Fact: In his last 30 games, Jonathan Huberdeau has 31 points, or a 84.7 point pace over full a season.

I think you have to also include a playoff round or two to the mix before you can come to any real conclusions on a player.

Well that would be nice if true, he has 24 points in his last 30 games. So not a fun fact.

Ugh. That is actually the complete opposite of a fun fact and confirms what I already knew. He is going to be lucky to hit 60 points this season unless he comes out of this break absolute gang busters the rest of the way.
Hopefully he is able to get himself together next year and get back to the more dominant, 80ish point player he needs to be for the Flames.

Which isn't bad for being new to a Sutter system and asked to tear down his run and gun game and rebuild it from the d-zone out
PPG pace isn't far off. If the powerplay could do anything at all right now, he would be there
The coaches badly need to go back to the drawing board there

Players have off years. Look at Gaudreau in the two seasons before last. Even now he’s well off of last year’s pace and he’s declined a lot defensively. And then add in new teammates, including a lot of Lucic. Huberdeau will get better than this year.
