Markstrom wore his black pads around early December, and he got lit up. After that they disappeared and haven’t been seen since.

Takes time to break in pads until they feel right to where you know how they will come off of them. Probably that simple.
I never worried about it but I knew a few guys that took a month+ to get the feel 'right' for them.
