Default NSH/DAL/LA/LV - who would like in the first round?

Who do you think the Flames match up best against?

We need to focus on winning the next game before we think about who we want to face in the playoffs.

Any team can beat any team. We just need to worry about how well we play.

I can tell you one thing tough, I wouldn't want to be a wildcard team and face Colorado in the 1st round. Waste of 8 days.

Probably LA, but it's the playoffs, no easy matchups.

Just having some fun, and like to cheer for the other teams to get the favorable matchup, I'm just not sure who that is - that's why I'm asking.

Me "focusing on winning the next game" isn't going to change much, I don't play on the team.

Hoping for a certain opponent seems foolish. Many hoped to be up against Colorado in 18/19 and we all remember how that turned out.

The Flames are going to have to play against good opponents if they go on a run, so there is no point in worrying about who they play and when.

We're fans. We don't need to do anything except have fun.

Nashville in the first round would be amazing.

I’d like to avoid Vegas as long as possible, other than that - I don’t think it matters much

No desire to see Vegas in the first round. LA, then Dallas are probably the best match up but as noted before a lot of us hoped for Colorado and, welp.

No preference.
I just want to see this team and Darryls staff get deep in the playoffs, make some noise, stay healthy and make the town crazy fun for spring and summer.
There's nothing like seeing red flags, jerseys, signs, funny gifs and happy loud obnoxious people honking horns while driving around town.
Plus....we're due baby....its time .
Johnny's kicking some serious ass to get us as far as possible and good ol Darryl is showing us what unfinished business means .

GFG

My favourite match-up would be Nashville...just 2 passionate fan bases that would be cool to see go head to head. Dallas is barf worthy boring...

...and I ain't afraid of Vegas...

I fear only Nathan MacKinnon. We never seem to have an answer for him.

I think perhaps one of the answers is having Tkachuk get in his head and cause him to fight and injure his hand and get him to lose his cool emotionally

Nashville - this is the team I'm least familiar with. I know they have a great goaltending and they have always been a strong structured team. They'd be a tough opponent.

Dallas - I wouldn't mind the opportunity to avenge the meltdown in the bubble. This team probably scares me the least of any of them.

LA - based on our last two meetings I don't think the Flames match-up well. They play a tight defensive system that will work well in the playoffs. The Sutter/Tofolli/Lewis storyline would be interesting though.

LV - team looks like a SC contender on paper, when healthy. But but their goaltending is suspect and they just haven't been a good team this year. I don't see them pulling it together this season.

^^ Speaking of getting hurt and Tkachuk it would be great if he could not get injured during the 1st round. Its been a rough go recently for him (play in, 1st round, etc).

Tough to say as there are several games down the stretch. Nashville has been lining up with the Flames for a while and seem like a decent opponent but if they easily handle us in the 2 remaining games then maybe not?

LA seems like a good bet but I can’t see them finishing in the first wildcard.

It would be nice to get revenge on Dallas for 2020 but they could be a tough out as well.

Whoever we get we need to beat so I don’t have a preference with the exception of wanting to avoid Vegas

Nashville would be the longest travel, right? Then they would be my least favourite to match up against in the 1st as that would tire them out the most. Especially, if it was a long series. It would be an entertaining one, I bet. Although, still have two more regular season games against them, so who knows?

all the playoff teams are good. That is why they are playoff teams.
Except Edmonton, they are no good.

Whoever we play is gonna be a tough out regardless, there's no easy opponents here.
So bring on the 1st wildcard team!!

In order of preference;

-LA (confident the Flames would win in 5 games)
-Dallas (I feel Flames would win in 6/7)
-LV (same as above)
-Nashville (50/50 here as Saros could steal a series)
