GAME 15: STAMPEDERS vs Argonauts
Game Time: Monday, October 10th @ 2pm
BMO Field (Toronto)
Televised: TSN, ESPN3
Thanksgiving Day game in Toronto between the Calgary Stampeders(12-1-1) and Toronto Argonauts(5-9 3rd in the East). With BC Lions losing the game against Winnipeg today, Calgary only need to win one game to get a bye in a Western Division playoff. Toronto on the other hand is in danger of not making the playoff as the Edmonton Eskimos can take the 3rd spot on a crossover. Eskimos is ahead of Toronto by 4 points.
I apologized for the error earlier. There was no change on when the game start. It stays at 2:00pm on Monday. Stamps changed the game time to 7pm for October 21st game.
Drew Willy will start in Toronto and he'll throw the ball to different receivers this week after the Argonauts released 4 of their starting receivers. Kind of weird but it is Toronto so that doesn't surprise me anymore.
OFFENSE:
QB Bo Levi Mitchell even after a good start last week's game against Hamilton did not reach the 300 yards passing for the first time for a long time. Mitchell went for 20/29 for 293 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs. R Davaris Daniels had a great game going to the end zone 2 times and he ended up catching 5 passes for 123 yards. He also rushed once for 25 yards. RB Jerome Messam scored 1 TD and ended up rushing 9 times for 59 yards plus catching the ball 4 times for 43 yards. Bakari Grant is probably starting to get nervous right now and wondering if he'll get back in the lineup once he's healthy because R Kamar Jorden has been playing well. Jorden had another good game and becoming to be Mitchell's favorite target. He caught 6 passes for 69 yards.
Offensive Line even though they are banged up did not allow a sack again last week. It looks like Brad Erdos might miss Monday's game because of unspecified injury. Dan Federkeil is still questionable for the game.
DEFENSE:
Defense played very well last week pretty much shutting down Zach Collaros before leaving because of shoulder injury. Masoli had a little luck but was still not good enough as Stamps defense just shut down Hamilton's top receivers all night.
LB Deron Mayo lead all defense with 7 tackles. I just hope he wasn't hurt with that wicked hit by a Hamilton player late in the game last week. The other LB Joe Burnett and Alex Singleton both had 6 tackles.
DE Ja'Gared Davis had intercepted a pass after Micah Johnson batted in Collaros pass. S Josh Bell had the other INT.
DT Micah Johnson and DE Boudreaux sacked Hamilton QB once each.
SPECIAL TEAM:
Special team coverage played well against Brandon "Speedy" Banks. I don't think I even seen Banks returned a good punt or kickoff all night except probably once.
Returner Roy Finch returned 4 punts for 59 yards and 2 kickoffs for 40 yards. Simon Charbonneau-Campeau returned an onside kickoff easily for 51 yards TD. No one even came close to stopping him at all.
************************************************** *****
This game should be a cakewalk for the Stampeders and the only way they will lose this game is because they beat themselves. In the past few seasons I've noticed that every time they play Toronto, the team just fall apart with dumb penalties and mistakes. I am sure Dickenson will not let that happen in this game.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. GO STAMPS GO!!!!!

Great write up as always Oz.
I'm confused, cfl.ca still has the game at 2pm. I expected them to move the game time, but this is the first time I've seen it.

I think OzSome may have confused the start time of tomorrow's game with the news that the start time of the Argos - Stamps home game on October 21st has changed to 7pm.
Please note that the start time for the Calgary Stampeders’ Oct. 21 home game against the Toronto Argonauts has been changed to 7 p.m.

Sorry guys. Dash_pinched is right. I might have got confused with the message I received the other day. According to TSN, game starts at 2pm.
It was the October 21st game that got moved to 7pm.

Messam TD on a 1-yard line.

I think Hughes was upset that he missed Whitaker on that first play, so he made up for it on the next play.
