Default Photoshop CC Question

I just upgraded from CS5 to CC.
When trying to open a .PSD file, I used to be able to see a small preview when single clicking on it. Now, I cannot see anything unless I open up the file completely or view in bridge. I preferred the old way MUCH more, when I could see a preview.
Anyone know a fix for this?

Looks like a common issue:

The first option in that article didn't work. And I'm hesitant to download anything 3rd party. From now on, I think I'll just save an accompanying and same named JPG to make it easier. Thanks though!!
