Panthers move entire team, staff and training camp to Boston

Families and pets as well.
Their affiliate is in nearby Springfield, and could use training facilities there.
I would imagine there's contingency plans being drawn up in case their home area, BB&T Center is damaged.

Good call.
I wonder if Tampa doesn't follow suit.
Latest models have the storm hitting that area even harder than the Miami area.
The clean up for this thing could take them well into the regular season dates, so hopefully there is contingency plans in that case as well.

The Lightning are safely ensconced in Nashville, according to their official Twitter account.

This storm just looks horrible. The dirty side of a powerful hurricane running up the length of the state.

If things get to the extreme, I imagine they could work out playing out of another NHL team's arena but based on scheduling, they'd probably need to play in a few as their "home".

If the Senators are having trouble drawing fans after a deep playoff run, what are we to expect out of Quebec? Is it a clear upgrade on Florida? I'm not so sure of that.
Also, why does every thread about the Panthers always end up discussing moving the team? It's pretty tiresome to read since there's zero indication of that happening any time soon.

It's literally a thread about moving the team though.

Quebec would probably be a better option than any existing NHL city. If you had a Panthers vs Avalanche game here, how many people would show up? Not many, because the vast majority would prefer to watch the Flames.
Even if you put the games in the "visiting" teams arena, you don't have the season ticket holder support, so you probably get low crowds.
Putting it in Quebec City, you can quietly get the media to tell everyone that this is their chance to audition for a permanent NHL team. That, combined with no local competition and a limited number of games, probably gets you sellouts at high ticket prices.

Centre Videotron is right Quebec City's downtown - isn't Ottawa's big issue that Kanata is the Glendale of Ottawa?

Wouldn't this be a realistic scenario for every Florida-based pro team? If Irma's as destructive as she's been, I imagine that every NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB stadium in the state could be seriously damaged. I know that Montreal already offered (and were turned down) to host some Rays' games.

Looks like the Miami Heat of the NBA will be looking for temporary accommodations. The roof of the American Airlines Arena has apparently blown off.
UPDATE: It's the part of the building that houses the Heat's practice facility.

It's the just the exterior membrane of their practice facility. No damage to the roof itself or the building: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/m...910-story.html
