Laine and Ehlers were both 4 points away from the top 25 this year. Which would have been 4 players in the top 25. If Laine doesn't miss time with a concussion he makes it easy.

I could easily see it.

They have explosive young talent. I know everybody loves to crap on them and their mediocrity but having Scheiffele, Ehlers, Laine, Kyle Connor, and then lesser young talent like Armia, Dano, Petan, Roslovic and then mix that with producing vets like Wheeler, Little and Perrault and you have a very high upside offence. I don't think their offence should be in question at all unless they get hit with some unfortunate injuries.

The Jets problems have been goaltending and being stuck in one of the deepest divisions in hockey. Playing in the central makes them look worse than they are with only COL being a weak team in that division. The Jets could surprise if they actually get some decent goaltending out of Mason. I don't think their young talent up front is very far behind the TOR, CGY, BUF, EDM's of the league if at all. Laine is the next great goalscorer in the league IMO. Scheiffele is a top young centre. Ehlers is an explosive talent. Connor is a blue-chipper. I'd expect the Jets to start making some noise pretty soon, you can't keep talent like that down.

They were 19-8-2 against the Central last year (21-27-5 against the rest of the league).

Total false narrative to blame the division. This is a team that just keeps getting in its own way.

Nice, didn't realize that. I still say their abysmal and inconsistent goaltending is their biggest impediment to success. If they can have anywhere near that type of record vs the central again I would think they're a playoff threat. Still looks like a pretty tough division with an improved Dallas.
