"Obviously, last season was a little rough for myself," said Duclair, who had 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) and was minus-7 in 58 games for the Coyotes in 2016-17. "A good learning experience, but at the same time, I just wanted to prove myself this year, that I can play at an elite level like I did my rookie season, and hopefully I'll have a better contract next summer."
He's still and RFA after this deal, right? At what point does he become a UFA?
Does this set Duclair up for deadline bait? Im thinking not as hes never proven anything really. But a deadline acquisition to a playoff team could be exactly what this kid needs to find his former game.
