The manual download of the extractor worked fine, it was the installation that failed (catastrophically...) at the last moment. I'm guessing downloading the actual SP2 would have failed as well, same as everything else.
Yes, my Vista and 7 was/is legit.

Ya I can see that.
So far so good though with the upgrade though, haven't noticed any lingering issues and all the updates are coming in fine. Used to have like 5 GB worth of Vista error reports that would build up on a short and regular basis and require regular disc cleanups. No idea how those things could possibly take up so much memory but the did haha. At least I don't have to deal with that anymore.
