Default Shaw/Telus Cable Student Pricing

Hey all,

Looking to get cable for the upcoming hockey season. Not really at all familiar with the stuff. I'm just wondering how to get the best deal from Telus or Shaw. I'm tired of watching feeds on the net . Truthfully, I just want to watch the flames in HD.

Call shaw and mention you're a student they should give you a deal.

I heard that this was the last week to get in on it though, but I don't know if it is today or tomorrow.

As far as I remember you can get the student promo anytime its on....

Can't comment os billus, I never talk to them, lousy company.

As far as Shaw goes. The discount is reasonable...definitely doesn't hurt having the discount.

I was able to get 6 months on a new customer plan for $20 a month which included all of the sports channels i need (there is a $10 plan which didn't work for me).

I think the student plan is around $25 or so, I can't remember, pretty sure it's better than the student.

I am using the student plan pricing for my internet though.

I'm all with Shaw and for the record I've had to call them 3 times in the last week or so, been on hold for over an hour each time before I've talked to anyone. This is why I'm going to switch come the new year.

I always thought it was unfair that students get breaks like this from cable companies. I worry about money more now than I did when I was in university.

Yeah, I'm with fredr, I'm fine with you slouching lazy shiftless lets hide in school to avoid the real world students getting a break on food, and maybe water, but getting breaks on cable? Well thats just not right. Next thing you know you'll want breaks on your flimflam cellphones, and electricity.

Well its not right

DOWN WITH STUDENTS!!!!

The revolutiiiioooonnn starts today.

I'm with you on this one. I say you sue them!
I don't see how this is any different than if they had different pricing for blacks/whites, males/women, students/non-students, etc.

Thanks for the replies!

And for those of you complaining about student pricing: just wait a few years. Some of you can't be too far away from qualifying for senior discount on a lot of things .

So we signed with Telus. $25 for HD Sports and PVR for first 3 months. $45 for the last 9 months.
