At least he got most of the AHL season in as well as a stint in the NHL. Pretty encouraging season for him.

I'm happy he got some serious NHL experience under his belt. It's funny how fan psychology works. If he had received no NHL experience this season I bet fans would be going nuts next training camp and proclaiming him a sure bet top 9 forward next year.

As almost always though, nothing takes the shine off a prospect like the struggles of adjusting to the best league in the world. Ironically, he'll likely be a way better player heading into next season despite the drop off in fan excitement.

I honestly expect him to be on the Flames roster next season. He was not that far off at all.

Frig off

Hopefully he's 100% to start the season

He's been the most impactful prospect in the AHL this year, logical progression would be a solid NHL contributor next season.

Guess this explains why he was scratched the last few games for Stockton.

I like him and he had a great AHL season but when in the NHL I saw him lying on the ice too much. He's smaller but doesn't play a Gaudreau style game of being elusive.

I think his game is going to be more reliant on strength the way St. Louis' was (not saying they are same offensive player but smaller sized). He just needs to be sturdier. He's really young and fast so he might just need experience in the league but I think he likes playing in the harder areas. Now he may have been favouring a injured shoulder when he was up and that's why he was knocked around.

Feel bad for him that he needs surgery but hoping for a fast recovery

Tough break for the kid. Character individual with tonnes of upside.

Hoping his Stockton roomie "Rassie" maintains his healthy diet.
