I probably wouldnt cheer for the 'ISIS Flames' but I sure as hell wouldnt cheer for the Oilers either.

If I had to choose one at gunpoint the 'ISIS Flames' would likely be in the lead.

I'd be done with the NHL at that point. Without a local team in the league there isn't much point to following hockey to be honest. I don't love the sport that much.

Easy, it's like dating a girl for half your life and then have her dump you for a younger richer guy that she thinks she would be happier with. Then her worst enemy comes along, tells you that she always knew she was a bitch. You end up sleeping with her and next thing you know it, you're dating her and hating on your ex together.

I do find it mildly humorous that now both Alberta teams have whored out Seattle for their own benefit.

I wouldn't follow the Flames if they moved, and would probably mostly stop following the NHL completely. I would probably find a new sport/team to follow, somewhat ironically the sounders or Seattle's new NBA team would be the most likely.

They are the closest team to us, same province, we can hate on the canucks still. We won't have a reason to hate their team as we aren't rivals anymore, even if those that chose to remain flames fans, they wouldnt be rivals with the oilers due to geographical change. Don't see this as bandwagoning at all, we hate them because we are rivals, that changes when we don't have a team. My opinion anyways.

Stuck with them for this long, would not give up.

If some favourite players like Ferland and Brodie got traded to a team I do not hate, that might change things over time.

With no team in Calgary I suppose I would watch, and support, the NHL much less.

Amusing if Flames moved to Seattle for another privately funded arena in a weaker hockey market. Calgary then gets Carolina, Arizona or Florida when another local group builds a new rink with their own money.

The Flames haven't yet. The timing looks suspicious with the Seattle announcment but it also coincides with the release of Nenshi's website plan. King was careful not to mention selling or relocating in his comments so there's been no threat to date at least publicly.

I would cheer for the Seattle Flames.

Those are my boys, I could never cheer for another team.

Those of you saying you would choose to cheer for Edmonton...Jesus Christ that's sad.

Everybody is getting waayyy ahead of themselves with this thread. The Flames/King announcement had nothing to do with Seattle as a ploy. That was a coincidence. Besides, I don't think it will ever get to the point of them moving. Some sort of deal will eventually happen.

I would be really sad and angry but would eventually come around to cheering for them still. I wouldn't get quite so emotionally involved though.
