Losing is not Child's play in Pittsburgh; Chucky shipped out
The Pittsburgh Penguins made a move today sending out a GM favorite. Alex Galchenyuk has spent his entire CPHL playing career in Pittsburgh after being acquired from the Dallas stars when he was still a prospect. The Pens signed Galcheyuk to a cap friendly 3 year 2.75mill deal in the offseason and it appeared he would be a fixture in the lineup.
However with the Pens chasing the lottery instead of the division as expected things have been rocky in Pittsburgh. The Pens contacted the Jackets and sent Galchenyuk, along with the player they drafted 3rd overall, Gabe Vilardi to Columbus in return for Gabriel Landeskog. The Pens hope Landeskog's all around play will compliment Mcdavid on the top line.
Thanks to Russ for the deal and hopefully it works out longterm for both teams.
