i can't wait for this evening.... tonight my band has a gig, which in itself is going to be a blast, but the best part is our keyboardist is back! he's been battling cancer for the last number of months and is now able to get back out and gig.
he is absolutely awesome, not just as a musician but as a man you want to be around. he's so much fun, has an infectious personality and constantly cracks me up. we probably laugh waaaaay too much while on stage, but we don't care - we play becuz we love it and we love gigging together.
i'm so blessed to be able to be on stage with a man of his musical skill (he played keys for kenny loggins back in the 70s - he's by far the best keyboardist i've ever played with).
tonight is going to be such a treat

Been waiting for about a year to replace the siding on the house. Finally got everything needed, and figured that it'd have to wait again until warmer weather. Nope. Guys started last week and will be finishing up tomorrow. So happy to have that issue taken care of. Makes me happy to have a year old issue finally taken care of.

The clock on my microwave and the clock on my stove are about 1.5 feet from each other and they never moved in unison. The two clocks always showed a different time and it was annoying as I never knew which one was correct. It only took about a week for them to show different times after syncing them up again.
We then had a power outage a few days ago for about 1 minute. The stock clock came back on, but the microwave clock didn't reset automatically - it just shows a 0 on the screen now. The amount of joy this has bought me is clearly disproportional to the issue it was causing, but wow, it makes me happy!

DJ-gig at a museum. Weird stuff. People quietly listening to dance music (it's a "silent disco"), while walking through a museum looking intently at walls and stands. So Finnish
What makes me happy is that people apparently have liked what I play a lot, and I'm getting payed to play music. It's a good feeling.
(I say apparently, because obviously Finns don't tell me directly, they tell the staff who hands out the headphones )

Paid $500 for an $1100 guitar on kijiji in mint condition (Ibanez RG870QMZ), then found a replacement pickup set for $200 (Dimarzio Evolutions), a few too many hours of labor later and I've paid $700 for a guitar that plays and sounds as good as a $2k-$4k one.

Nearly 30 years after I last DJ'd, I'm going to start spinning records (real, vinyl records) for people again. Won't be a full on DJ set, but I will have two turntables and I'll be taking care of the music for a small bar a few nights a month. Looking forward to it.

Is that you? I never would have imagined. There should be a thread to post pics of ourselves. I’m a cross between Brad Pitt and Tom Hanks.
