Default 2022/2023 Trade Speculation and Rumours

Interesting top 5 list of assets that get traded from Seravelli.

1. Debrincat
2. Fiala
3. Chychrun
4. Miller
5. NJD 2nd overall

Tkachuk for Holtz and #2?
I feel like I’d entertain that

Not sure NJD gives up young 1st rounders when they are still building. But if so, why not look at Mercer since he's gonna run into a ceiling of Hughes/Hischier. He could be a 2C in Calgary. Frees up a lot of cap to keep JG.

Gaudreau-Lindholm-Mangiapane
Dube-Mercer-Tofolli
Coleman-Backlund-Jarnkrok
Lucic-Ruzicka-X

Cooley + Mercer would be an good injection for Calgary's center depth. If Tkachuk doesn't want a long term deal that would be about the best return the Flames could get outside of another established young star.

Would anyone do Tkachuk for Chychrun+?

Fricken Devils.

Flames were one pick away from getting Mercer in that draft.

For once, can we name this thread the "Trade Speculation and Proposals" thread? This thread rarely ever has actual rumors.

Would have to be one hell of a plus in a Tkachuk/Chychrun deal. Frankly, I can't see the Coyotes having any desire to entertain that idea.

Who said they wanted him? Treliving wanted to trade down for more picks

Well, the Flames have obtained guys they missed in the draft previously. Lindholm, for example.

What do you care?

They were one pick away from having the option to take Mercer...

Is that better?

I wonder if Buffalo or Columbus would want to move up to #2.

Don't think so unless New Jersey likes Laine. Not sure who the Sabres would give up that would fit what New Jersey wants.

Why is Debrincat even available? I know he was rumoured to be available at the deadline, but after the Hawks traded Hagel, I figured they would keep Debrincat.

Edit: Never mind. I guess I could have, you know, clicked the link!

From the Flames perspective, I think it will be a quiet summer in terms of acquisitions.

But it'll be interesting to see what they do with Monahan.

I’m sure Lucic will retire, monahan will be moved for draft pick and a third rounder. Also think we’ll see chucky move… If so, we will definitely get a good pick and trade piece.

I don't see any scenario where Tkachuk would sign long term in Arizona and I feel Chychrun is not nearly worth what Arizona seems to think he is. He had his best season in the 20/21 and I largely ignore that season for any player that had a career year. Case in point Darnell Nurse.
