Not sure if Tkachuk will ever live up to the Panthers expectations. They clearly think he’s a special player. I think he’s got a different skill set compared to most players but I don’t think he’s a franchise player as to me he’s always been a high quality complementary winger.

I still don't get that part. He was a good player, I wouldn't say great and now all of a sudden he is a generational talent? Unicorn? I don't think he has a much different skillset. When you say generational you think of guys who can take over a game, I have yet to see that from him.
He is a pest with skill, and I wouldn't even call him a power forward either.

Thankfully in Zito's eyes he is a generational talent allowing Treliving to hose him on this deal.

[Spittin’ Chiclets] Huberdeau said “#### you” and hung up on GM Bill Zito after being informed that he got traded after a 115 point season

on the 32 thoughts podcast Friedman said that from what he understands Weegar's goal is to have contract extension in place before the season starts or he will shelve contract talks (presumably until the offseason)

If Weegar doesn't want to talk contact during the season he needs to be traded.
Not doing this again.

so let's get it done before the season, duh.
something like 8 years, 51 million ... who says no? Should work for both sides IMO.

They seem like they are close based on the scant information that came out, and there is lots of time before the season starts. I would bet it gets done.

You gotta think that if Weegar would take a contract starting with a 6 he'd be already signed.
His value is hard to peg. And I don't think he wants to take any kind of discount.

If they want to make him happy they should spell his name right on displays. It was embarrassing at the Dome. They also got Huberdeau and Toffoli's position wrong (though their names were on the correct side of the display, the position was incorrect).

I honestly would work it out if I was Weegar, One year in the Flames system might not boost his productiveness to garner more money. This is his time to capitalize on the best offer. everyone is talking high on him right now.

Brad will take a deal before the season starts and will not let it get shelved until the off season. I would imagine the tie up right now is Treliving trying hard for the low end of their contract gap in negotiation. But when push comes to shove, there'll be an announcement.

Does anyone know if Weegar is the submissive one in his relationship and his wife is the decision maker and the boss? We need some insider information on this. Anyone?

The only place he hears this is from the inexperienced lawyer/agent/uncle. We hear they are close to a deal then this. Sounds like someone is frustrated they can't get a wizard to budge.
