No kidding. I would have tried Janko. At least he's shown he has some sweet moves.

First of all, excellent word choice on Valentine's.

Second, I don't think the Flames need to make a trade for the sake of it. I think their offense has completely sputtered out and they need to avoid a repeat of post-TDL slump from last year. It's clear that this team's biggest weakness (aside from consistent goaltending) is secondary scoring, and right now, there are plenty of means to fix this.

Do not understand Peters lineup in the shoot out w Eatbread?

Did Johnny do something to get left out of their last 2 shoot outs?

This year's shootouts:
vs BOS (China): Tkachuk scores, Czarnik/Janko/Ryan don't.
vs WSH: Monahan scores, Tkachuk/Neal/Gaudreau don't.
vs TB: Monahan scores, Tkachuk/Neal/Gaudreau/Lindholm/Hanifin/Janko don't.
@ VAN: Tkachuk/Monahan/Neal don't score.
@ FLA: Monahan scores, Mangiapane/Tkachuk don't.

Chucky is snakebit lately, but he and Monahan are about our only options.

I liked the Mangiapane choice tonight, he at least tried a deke and to attack with speed, something different than our usual slowly come in and shoot low strategy.

I'd still like to see Jankowski, Backlund, or Lindholm.
Wow I had no idea Tkachuk was that good last season. My memory fails me.

Really puzzled by the shootout player selection. I understand there could be a tie breaker after the third round but why not try to win it with the best players that are able to deke rather than players that shoot. Goalies nowadays are too good on the low shots. Frustrating with 9 shootout losses!

Well that won't help much come April. Zuccarello's Norwegianness trumps all other attributes.

Lots of discussion about the SO, but nothing about the horrific pick management in OT. Terrible. This team is in its own head right now something fierce.

Not score on a heap of breakaways?

They're in the middle of a struggle themselves. Heck, they made the Oil look like a competitive team last night.

Game is gonna shape up to be a slump buster. Hopefully the Flames return the favor from the last time they met.

This was what Tkachuk tried to recreate:

He just flubbed the shot at the last second, otherwise he had Reimer beaten.

Well the SO is awful but Flames with some putrid play in that OT.

Yeah I get that Gaudreau isn't great at shootouts but it's maybe time to put him back in there. I think he can figure something out.

This. It's getting annoying AF. In the span of a week, Jones, Markstrom and (frickin) Reimer!

Somethings got to give, unless this is some kind of karmic thing because of Elias' win celly mockery.

Not using Jankowski after his goal baffles me. If you are going to use a wild card player maybe use the player with reach, who has a good shot, whose played in the league for a season. Love Peters but man I do not understand the Neal and Mangiapane picks for the shootout. Made zero sense both times

Neal has been better of late, maybe you could hope Neal's injury isn't too serious? But no, hope for a trade! I just don't get the logic sometimes.

I'd rather see a trade when they are playing well (position of strength), rather than a trade of desperation, which is what is bound to happen now.
