There are miracles and yes people there is a God. I get a phone call from a good friend of mine who decided that he now wants to pay me in full, the money we wagered on the Presidential election. SOB has been stalling complaining for weeks on end that there was fraud and the election was stolen.
He tells me wants to transfer the money into my acoount.
No problem I say and we do the process. Finally got the money.
He asks me a question before he hangs up about what I plan on doing with my winnings. I coment that i'm going to make a donation to the Democratic party in his name.
I hear something to the effect of #### you! and he hangs up.

Every once in a while I'll pop into a random thread and read about someone on CP getting vaccinated. Regardless of their situation, that RMMH.
Still blows my mind that after ~10 months of pandemic and uncertainty, the light at the end of the tunnel is slowly but surely getting closer. With every post I read of someone getting vaccinated, that is another small nail in the coffin for this pandemic.

my little guy (5 yrs old) rmmh!
this morning he comes into the kitchen and asks, "did the oilers lose last night daddy?"
i smiled and said, "they sure did buddy!"
he looks at me, beaming ear to ear, exclaims "Y E S!!" and then does a couple of fist pumps.
he then asks, "when do the flames play?"
i reply, "tonight!!"
he looks down at the shirt he's wearing (that mom picked out), turns and runs off to his room. he's back a couple minutes later with a flames shirt on and says while motioning to his shirt, "that looks better... right daddy!?!"
gotta love that little guy!

I had the same thing happen this week! Buddy paid me the $500 he owed me and I sent him back a receipt showing that I donated it to the NDP

My daughter gets to wear a sports jersey to school tomorrow (they normally wear uniforms). It dawned on me that my first Flames jersey — the one that my mom got me when I was a kid, the one with my last name on the back, the one that I have kept for almost 30 years — would fit her.
I dug it out and she put it on and immediately got super excited to wear it tomorrow. Who knew my kid would be wearing my cherished jersey after all these years. So proud.

Getting work done at home / working with my kids. Makes me happy for them to see what they have helped accomplish.

i LOVE working with my kids! the job usually take about 3-4 times longer than it should but i know they really enjoy it. my little guy (he's 5) thinks it's awesome when he can use my drill (with a screwdriver head) to put screws in (i'm just thankful the drill has a 'screwdriver' setting so he can't strip the screws).
both kids still talk about when they "helped dad" paint their rooms

Idk about custard, but I love putting butter on banana bread.
What makes me happy is this replica Stanley Cup ring. I ordered it on Friday night and it showed up Sunday Morning. I don't really have a huge affinity to the 1989 win, but somehow I stumbled upon this and I decided to order it. It's surprisingly nice in person. It has a nice weight to it.

Finally taking the steps to apply for some online schooling RMMH, I should have done it a long time ago but have been putting it off. Finally decided I need to just sign up
