Conn Smythe Trophy winner ROR suffered a cracked rib in the second round vs Dallas and has played through it since. Says Blues medical staff was tremendous in helping deal with it.

That's really great, it's not easy to do...Hardly makes him one of the most decorated and accomplished players in hockey history. That's hyperbole to the ludicrous degree. No CHL title, no Memorial Cup, no World Junior gold, other guys have done one of those things multiple times. Sidney Crosby has three times the cup wins, two Olympic medals, a World Junior gold, and individual awards up the wazoo.

Again, amazing for Bouwmeester to have those three things, but one of the most decorated, most accomplished players in hockey history? No sir.
Gee, Sidney Crosby has more accomplishments. How about that.

Can't blame Bouwmeester for his time in Calgary. The whole team was poorly constructed.

It's just one example, one example going by the triple gold club. You could eliminate the the World Championships all together, forget that club, and still find many more players more decorated. Perhaps just a funny caught up in the moment comment by TheScorpion, but I found it rather puzzling.

Appreciate the sarcasm though!

My only complaint is that the Blues weren't wearing the best alternate jersey in the league when they won.

I think, without checking, the number of players would be pretty darn small. Lots of players (like Iggie) have no cup, most Euros have no minor league awards, or play for teams without much chance at international success (say, Chara).

Jaybo played more minutes than anyone in game 7 of the cup finals...he was part of their shut down pair and a big reason they won.

Over 28 minutes...he played half the ####ing game!

"Passenger" lol don't be butthurt

He played in the World Juniors at 16, 17 and 18 during Canada's 8 year slump.

Youngest ever to play for Canada 16 years 2 months as a defenseman!

Frickin' Jbo, key ingredient on the blue line to a stanley cup, years after being shipped out following a rather "meh" tenure as a Flame.

Say you rank him 29th out of 29. Because the triple gold club is the bottom line standard (nobody cares about minor hockey accomplishments, really, and certainly not if you want to throw World Championships into the garbage).

So say the 28 other players in the triple gold club are all above Jbo. That means that of all the players who have played in the NHL since NHL players could play in the Olympics, Jbo is more decorated than roughly 99.4% of them.

That’s at worst. He’s one of the most decorated professional hockey players, period, because he’s part of the triple gold club, and he’s won all three trophies that actually mean anything.

No, it would be rather large. Jean Beliveau and Yvan Cournoyer have ten cups each. That trumps winning one each of the "triple gold". Iginla doesn't have a stanley cup but he's a very decorated hockey player. Multiple individual titles, World Championship, two time Olympic winner, World Cup of hockey winner, World Junior Gold, two time WHL, two time Memorial Cup winner.

Huge congrats to Bouwmeester, he's won more than most think, but that was such an over the top statement. Even the list of triple gold club winners was more than double what the OP originally thought.

This is a boring debate in this thread, I'll chalk it up to cup excitement and move on.

Chalk it up to the fact that you don’t have the intelligence to give Bouwmeester the respect that he deserves.
