What a brutal franchise. Each and every year they lose the season opener.
Championship teams are those that take every game seriously, and treat the beginning of the season like the end of it. So it's no wonder why this team hasn't amounted any playoff success whatsoever.
I don't think the team amount one legitimate chance this game. How bad of a start to the season is it gonna be this time?
Not a fan of the Flames becoming the Oilers/McDavid's bitches. At least have some fight...

McDavid and Drai are just on another level compared to Monahan and Gaudreau. Not entirely sure we can win with those guys

Smith made the Flames look better than they really were.
There was virtually no offense.
I don't think Hamonic was really that bad. It just seems that way because of..reasons...
The Flames were also outcoached pretty badly. This shouldn't happen again on Saturday.
This wasn't the worst game I've seen the Flames play. And I'm confident they'll rebound.

Even though losing the opener is fully expected it's still extremely frustrating watching an effort like that. The only difference between the Jets and Flames tonight was Mike Smith.
Kind of getting worried about Brodie. This play was pretty common last season and even though it's only one game it's beginning to look like a trend. I get that Gulutzan knows he's stuck with Brouwer but I simply don't understand why he has so much faith in him to put him out in key situations. He really seems to have a bad read on this player.
Smith was a bright side. Looked very good and deserved a better fate. If this is what we can expect most of the season things will be fine but man they really need to play a lot better on Saturday as you don't want to be heading to Anaheim down 0-2 to start the season.

Glen Gulutzan is a ####ing moron. There was no way the Flames were coming back or even scoring a goal but he proceeds to gift wrap the hat trick to tank boy. ####. Does Gully have a pulse on the game at all??????
What a complete jackass.

Other than Smith, Flames were a joke. A couple good plays by Glass, but that’s about it.
Brodie.... wtf. Get your head out of your ass man. You should hang your head in shame as you were horrible tonight.
If they don’t come out with a significantly better effort on Saturday, there is yet again reason to be concerned for their start.
There in no excuse for this level of effort and compete.

I don't understand why they just seem to play afraid against the Oilers. There was little energy, no swagger. The system didn't even look like last year, no pick support, losing lose puck battle time after time, and just allowing breakaways. Like a deer in the headlights. Of course next up is angry Jets and Honda centre. Might be a tough October.

Holly crap, already jumped off the 10 meter platform 1/82 of the way through the season. You seem to lack some of that fight as a fan you expect the team to have.
