Respirator won't work properly with a beard, so sometimes there's actually a legit reason for it. Hockey isn't one of those times tho.

Engelland! I thought I told you to trim those sideburns! Go home, you're off the team, for good!

That is silly and probably won't help getting players to sign or waive NTCs.

I kind of get the Yankees requirements as they are one of the most famous and historic franchises in the world playing in one of the greatest cities in the world. If you want to join the team you need to play by their rules. The Knights on the other hand are an expansion team playing in a league where the backup career choice for half the players is lumberjack. So stupid.

Didn't NJ have similarly restrictive policies while Lamoreillo was there? Like no long hair or something like that.

That's correct, it is a Leafs policy. They're able to grow beards in the playoffs though (or at least they're allowed to. Marner, Matthews, etc. might not be able to!)

Any before and after pics? Also should have shaved it for charity and hopefully did. I assume an exception will be made for Movember as well...

With full face masks and positive air pressure it would have to be a pretty big beard. I have had to wear SCBA for work often enough.
Still rules are rules. I am required to keep clean shaven as a condition of employment.

Engeland signed a contract with them. I would think there is something in there to this (clean shaven) effect.
I am not sure how it's enforceable to the rest of the team though. Don't shave don't play I guess. Seems like a poor moral choice.

I had to shave on site while visiting an oil production site near Bonnyville.

But can't think of a legitimate reason for a NHL Club

Edit: and when asked to shave was shorter than photo 2 of Engelland
