If you don't mind driving another half an hour you can fund some pretty amazing spots on the prairie. Little Fish Lake has some really stunning natural areas. This is just a picture of the lake and the trail that circumambulates it...

But looking the other to the east is just wide open rolling prairie with no fences or roads. There are tipi rings and graves sites not too far away. They've found domesticated dog skulls around there as well that are 12-13k years old. And of course birds if you're into that. Also Handhills lake Ecological Reserve is right there too...

You also won't see any people out there. Almost no one goes there. Bring a picnic. But you can't go wrong with Horsethief either. You'll find lots of dino bones there.
