Agreed. The Gostisbehere trade was really solid for them. Ladd doesn't hurt them. If they do this they get to pick in the top 10, which washes away the taste of losing the 11th OA a little bit.

Hey, they can still overpay for Garland too... watch them give him 6x6 or something.

Just knew OEL was on the move for sure when they brought in Ghostisbear

Based on the massive moves Edmonton and Vancouver have been making to actively make their teams worse (Keith/OEL), the Flames may find themselves with home-ice advantage in the Playoffs next season just by doing nothing lol

Same.

They’re being realistic about where they are, and are building through the draft all while preparing themselves to draft high in ‘22 and ‘23, which are very important drafts.

Holy #%^* Vancouver is dumping Beagle, Roussell, and Eriksson in this deal?

How is that possible?

Holy. crap they are dumping every one of their awful contracts at once. That might not be so bad at all.

Not so sure about that:
- they have 17 picks between this draft and the next (add in the #9, if true).
- still have solid players under 25 yrs - Schmaltz, chychrun, dvorak, & keller
- A decent goalie in Kuemper

I think this is a team that knows it can't currently compete with the Avs, STL, & DAL and is looking at 3-5 years down the road and baring stupid signings, they'll have a ton of cap next year.

It would still be an insanely stupid deal, since all of Beagle, Eriksson and Roussel's contracts expire this year and OEL's keeps going for five more afterwards.

Is Garland the only decent player of the bunch of crap in this deal?

I think if this is what it ends up being, this is a decent deal for Vancouver.

Van basically dumps all their bad contracts but take on the OEL deal.

Getting Garland is solid though

I really hate Arizona. Schmidt should be going back too.

Doormats of the league.

Have to think Kuemper will be on the move.
