I guess we’ll have to trade for Boeser, or hurry up and offer sheet Petey now to really screw them over

The Canucks don't deserve Garland.

Schmidt and the 9ths OA going back is a must.

K, so, for me to be even remotely okay with this, Canucks need a big pile of salary going out and OEL retained at a huge chunk.

If that doesn't happen, have Textcritic call local law enforcement to do a wellness check.

What are you talking about? They desperately need picks and to unload that awful OEL contract. Chychrun is the future on defense down there.

Armstrong has been a magician since being the GM. Has cleaned up a good bit of the mess Chayka made. Still lots to go.

It sounds like the Roussell deal may be unrelated to this. Canucks beat guy Irfaan Gaffar reporting that deal is done already.

Canucks just following the Flames failed strategy to kick their contention window open.
Any chance JT Miller is involved.
9th + Schmid+Roussel makes some sense

Hmmm....do you think the Sedins are very high on OEL?

They must have played together on Olympic and World Championship teams.

Dude, I know this isn't easy news to take, but it's not worth getting beaten or shot over it.

Feels like Schmidt is involved. Now Morgan is on this, which really confirms it's legit

This would be a horrendous overpay by the Canucks unless OEL has like 2.5-3M retained, which ain't gonna happen... He's signed until he's 36!

This would make sense, they haven't been in the league for 3 years which is the last time he was actually good.

That's my guess.

9th + Schmidt + Roussel (Maybe Ferlands contract too)

for

OEL + Garland

Huh?

I love what they've been doing this week. Using their cap space to acquire significant assets

So Benning is trying to dump a bunch of salaries of dumb deals he signed to take on an even dumber deal?

Par for the course.

Given what the Oilers and Canucks are doing, I'm really coming to appreciate the value of standing pat.

I think OEL should have more negative value than Garland has positive value.

Was hoping either the Canucks or Oilers would take on OEL and that awful contract. So that’s nice, just a shame they get Garland out of it. Hope the Canucks overpay in a big way.
