You’ll find if Zib gets traded that that is not true.

His stats last year are bogged down by a very uneven start due to COVID.

I was kind of thinking that as well. But there’s lots of time and I don’t think anyone rumoured to be coming here went somewhere else yesterday.

So far:

- Gio gone
- Pitlick added
- Coleman rumoured to be coming
- Dvorak rumoured in on
- gaudreau extension talks started

Is all I have heard. Guessing we lose Ryan in free agency. I hope we can keep him though. He’s a sneaky effective player.

If all of the above is true I think we need a backup goaltender, bottom 6 left winger and a top 4 defensman at a minimum.

I still have a feeling that one of Tkachuk, Gaudreau or Monahan are leaving. I’d pick Monahan but guessing he’s probably the toughest of the 3 to move.

There are a few veteran goalies and quite a number of free agent defensman available. Left wingers are not as abundant. Maybe they give Pelletier a shot at that spot. I thought he looked really good at the world juniors and I think this is an opening they should look at giving to a prospect to keep $$ down.

Big question is if they work a deal to move one of the top 3 players I mentioned. Will be interesting to see what happens.

We are clearly rolling with the same core without replacing a key piece we lost on the backend (Gio). Bringing in a Pitlick or even a Dvorak don’t change the trajectory here. Guessing we will be right back here next year picking 9-15. Embarrassing.

It’s been apparent a shake up of the core is needed - and not just the simple subtraction of Gio. The chemistry of this group just isn’t quite right (whole is lesser than the sum of the parts) and something needs to be done - either a tear down or a couple hockey trades to change the mix.

Do something! Or are the owners content to be a perpetual bubble team? Seems so.

There's still time but it's looking increasingly likely that Treliving is going to give the core another chance which is one of the craziest things I have seen with this franchise given it's nearly guaranteed to fail. I'm beginning to wonder if he's become increasingly gun shy since getting burned on the Hamonic trade. It seems like he's not been able to get any major deals done since then.
