I missed this post before but I don't have a picture to share. I just used a bunch of small pieces of foil tape around where the air duct from the humidifier enters into the air supply duct because the hole that was cut was leaking a lot of air. Because it is a round duct/hole I had to use small pieces to try to work around the contour. After it was sealed up with the small pieces I ran a few longer pieces around the opening to finish things off.

Anyone had experience with this or know of someone / company that could do this for me?

Do you mean dump the exhaust air into the attic? I'm not sure that is a good idea, as it is loaded with moisture, isn't it?

No, vent it out like a dryer vent outside.
My dryer is on the top floor and the vent exhaust goes up into the Attic and out.

Got mine installed finally yesterday. It’s great so far.
We have a 2 furnace setup, and installed AC in just the upstairs unit. So far we’ve got upstairs at 23C, it brings the main floor down to 25-26 instead of 30 without.
Got no deal, but now hopefully I don’t have to think about it for years.

Did not get a deal on mine either but you will not be thinking of that when you got a cool house amidst another heat wave. Great investment, totally worth it

My AC install is nearly complete. I stood outside with a cup of coffee in hand and basically got all teary eyed when I saw it. It's beautiful.

Get my A/C installed tomorrow - can't wait!!!
Question - my wife is freaking out as all her friends have told her with central AC you have to pick - do you want your upstairs to be cooled or your main floor - is this true?
Seems more like basic physics in that its harder to push cold air UP so the upper level would be a bit more warmer than the main. Any input?

If you have one furnace and one AC unit, as my house does- with a zone controller- then I just cool the upstairs and the main floor sorts itself out quite well... in fact, the main floor is often cooler than the top floor where we pump all our cold air to.
If you have 2 furnaces (bigger homes, older homes) and getting 1 AC, then put your AC on the upstairs circuit.

Nope - just the one in the basement. Hence why I think the main floor will be cooler than upstairs.

My face is a bum!

Our ducting is ####, so we have to leave all vents open to make sure the AC won't freeze if it's running for extended periods. Downstairs is too cold, upstairs is too hot.

We have a portable unit for our Master....thing has been an absolute workhorse for us. We've had it for at least 10 yrs at this point. I always clean the filters several times a season but think it deserves some maintenance, possibly even a coolant recharge. Where is a good place to go for something like that?

We have found a huge difference leaving our fan running all the time to equalize the temp in the house.

If worrying about the coil freezing up, yes I'd pull it.
When you don't need the AC so much put it back in.
It's not the best situation but better than being hot.

For air conditioning.....please do yourself a favor and DONT use 3M of any kind , Kirkland woven and pleated filters as your just asking for longer cooling cycles, higher bills, frozen coils , defrosting coils and defrosting coils mean water in your furnace and fried electric components which are HUGE money for repairs these days.
I've been in the HVAC industry for 30 years and the crap I see which is all preventable is amazing

Any concerns with electronic filter systems and AC? Ours has the electronic filter in between 1/4” plastic and 1/4” aluminum (?) mesh screens. Seems to be fairly free flowing if we keep it clean.
