Vasek back in action today looking to make it a three-peat on the ATP Challenger tour as he takes on Sebastian Korda in Knoxville. In case you're wondering, yes that is indeed the son of Petr Korda who had a pretty fine career on the ATP tour and just another reminder that I'm getting Abe Simpson old.

Well darn, Vasek retired after the first set against Tommy Paul of the States (Paul won it 6-4), hopefully it's nothing serious with the Davis Cup on the horizon.

In the latest epi of Spittin Chiclets Selanne talks about how he and Nieminen played Forsberg and Federer in doubles. I love how Federer is a huge hockey fan, anyways here is the picture and some video from that night.

Just a heads-up that Rafa is taking on Alex Zverev at the ATP Finals in London as I type and TSN1 has the match.

This is definitely Zverev's tournament.

First win in six attempts - That was some fine tennis from Zverev and Rafa to me still looked like his oblique injury was bothering him (his movement seemed hampered at times).

Well poop. Hats off to Zverev, looks like Nadal and Federer pumped him up too much at the Laver Cup.

Thiem was up a break in the 3rd twice, including serving for the match but blew it.
Djokovic then had a double mini break in the tiebreaker and blew it.
Thiem wins 67 63 76.
Djokovic now has to beat Federer to advance.

Nadal dropped the first set to Medvedev in a tie-breaker, but won the second set 6-3. Some pretty fine tennis being played by both guys.

Also reading that Tomas Berdych is hanging up his racquet - Pretty fine career carved out by the Birdman.

Well, Medvedev was up 5-1 in the 3rd set (I think he even had a match point on Nadal's serve) and serving for the match at 5-2. It is now 5-5.
Edit: Third set tie-breaker required to decide the winner.

Wowza, what a comeback in that 3rd set by Rafa (I guess another way to look at it is a collapse by Medvedev). 6-7 6-3 7-6
