I thought they did an excellent job and I'm happy to see such diversification. With that being said, I look forward to the day we just see a man or woman and drop the ethnic segregation.

Down with Twitter! This never would have happened in the age of fax machines.

I've only recently started keeping an eye on Twitter. It's great for up-to-the-second sports news & gossip, so I feel I should defend it. It is shocking how many trashy people there are out there with time on their hands to troll & tarnish an otherwise amazing invention. Those comments are pretty tame compared to stuff you see directed at soccer stars, but still inexcusable nonetheless.
In the UK last year a 19-year-old university student actually got arrested & charged for some horrific racist tweets aimed at Fabrice Muamba, an English footballer of African descent who had a heart attack on the pitch & very nearly died in the middle of a match. His comments were in the worst possible taste & they would turn a sensible person's stomach to read them.

The only good thing about this is that it further exposed Dome Beer for the idiot and horrible human that he is.

Yea, his tweet was about as clever as his blog, i.e. not in the slightest. Maybe someone should tell him that Harold is Korean which incidentally is not the same as Indian, so his joke makes no sense.

John Lu's hosted Sportscenter before hasn't he? And Nabil has hosted countless times.
I guess having TWO coloured people was just too much.
btw John Lu was pimping a white suit the other day in Montreal.

I was expecting much worse. However, I think that our society has come a long way when racism consists of a few bad jokes instead of racial slurs with threats of violence. (in this particular instance).

You call that racist?
You should have seen the hash tag that was floating around when Obama was elected for his second term...

Of the ones that they highlighted on yahoo I thought a lot of them weren't racist... they were racial (and not particularily amusing) but I don't consider the mere observation of race as racism unless it comes along with implicit or strongly implied sense of imparted inferiority or denegration.

I don't think they were particularly racist, they were ignorant though. I think talking out of ignorance is far worse than making a few light hearted racist jokes.

I've always thought the way brown people in this country embraced hockey is amazing. Watch a game in Vancouver, it's great.
btw, what's with Dome Beers and his stupidity, Locke and Jiri both mentioned him in this thread too, what's the history I'm missing?

Nabil has hosted a few times so people that are surprised probably don't actually watch Sportscentre that often. I think he does a great job. I've never seen the other guy to be honest. The funniest part about all of this is that these two guys are more well spoken than any of the idiots posting on Twitter about foreigners and moving to the middle east, etc.
