Johnson if he's healthy, Elliott if not.

The only concern with gillies is whether that is the right development track for him...if he can't handle the pressure for example and cracks, it won't be good longterm

No reason for Elliott to see the net again this series, worst statistical goalie this playoffs by a wide margin.

I'd put Gillies in.

Elliott has barely played like he deserves an AHL start. Are some of the tips unlucky? Yeah. For sure. And you can't have them all. But an NHL goalie has to make a timely save here and there and avoid the softies. He hasn't done that. Period. Even when Gibson had allowed 4 goals I felt like he was outplaying Elliott. One was facing everything the Flames had to throw at them plus a red hot powerplay and the other looked like he was still trying to wake up from his afternoon nap.

Gillies

Neither Elliott nor Johnson are a long term solution for us, and we really have nothing to lose at this point. It's time for us to find out what Jon Gillies is capable of at the NHL level.

Gillies

Elliott and Johnson are both likely gone next season, so why not give the guy with the only long term potential in our team a shot (One of Rittich or Gillies is the backup, and I think they look for an improvement for a starting goalie).

Johnson wasn't good down the stretch, and Elliott has been terrible in the playoffs.

Yeah, if desperate times really do call for desperate measure then I would give Gillies a shot. Maybe he Matt Murray's this thing (comes out of nowhere to win big, not gets hurt in warm ups).

If you put in Johnson the Ducks are going to score 3 goals high glove and the game will be over before the end of the first period.

In fact, despite me being a Knights fan, if they win I think that it does a disservice to the Memorial Cup as Erie is an absolutely stacked team that has outplayed the Knights by a wide margin, only to have Parsons play Supergoalie.

Don't get me wrong though, I will be happy to see the Knights go to, and win, the Memorial Cup again. The winner of this series almost assuredly will handle the next two teams (Owen Sound and then either Peterborough or Mississauga) and represent the OHL.

Gillies seems to be the popular pick. it would be a cool changeup but does glen have the balls?

the way Elliott was responding to getting beat on every goal you cannot put him back in the net.

I dont know that Ive seen a goalie since Joey MacDonald make excuses and throw his team under the bus and rage at officials for goals he should have had.

Good bye Brian.

Gillies please and dont even suggest JOhnson as he is seems to really be lacking confidence and we need a goalie willing to be the difference maker.

Watching Gibson on the bench laughing after being pulled shows me a winner right there.
wasnt sulking or glaring down his bench and or having a fit.....likely one of the coolest goalies reactions I have ever seen .

I hope Elliot doesnt even dress. I want to see a good game where the fans get behind the team and we actually TRY for a comeback. I don't want Elliot boos to distract our team.

I think it's quite the opposite.

You can't put Gillies into the net facing elimination for his first taste of NHL playoff hockey.

You can't put in Johnson because high glove.

Johnson has shown he can get on a hot stretch taking over from the starter. He saved our season in a lot of ways mid-way through. We really don't have a lot to lose at this point, I say insert Johnson...into the starting lineup.

Face it, the Flames won't win this series. Coming back from a 0-3 deficit to win 4 straight? Especially needing to win 2 in Anaheim where they haven't won in 10 years?

That being said, put Johnson in net. If he steals a game, super. If he got light up, so be it. The series was over already...

Gillies may be the popular fan choice, but I would bet money on Elliott starting, Johnson on the bench and Gillies in the press box.

I would like to see Gillies as much as anyone, but with our backs against the wall in the playoffs, I think you're taking a big developmental risk and asking way too much of a young guy that's only played one game in the NHL.

No kidding. That weakness really got exposed in the 2nd half of the season. I wouldn't object though to putting him in if only to change things up as sticking with the same lineup has yielded three straight losses.
