A previous cab? Not sure either they only has 160 left.

I believe route info penalties are 2 hours, roadblock 4 and detour 8.

Aarthy & Thinesh have the only Express pass left. They are good at everything.

Irina is useless, didn't do a thing the entire leg and Dave caters to her They should go out next leg or the one after that.

Well, that was an interesting leg. Dave and Irina are out of 'tricks' to get ahead, and they didn't even get first place for their efforts. I can't believe that she didn't do the water stunt. That didn't look hard at all. Might have been all of 15 seconds.

A lot of cab stealing going on this episode, too. I was amused with all the "I'll pay you double!"'s that I heard.

I was amused that they blurred the face of the cabby that bailed on a team for double from Dave and Irene. He must not have wanted blowback.

So they went from BC to Alberta to NWT and now ...back to BC? Never mind other countries, we're not even getting into other parts of Canada?

It’s funny because you know full well that given the size of Yellowknife everybody would know who this guy is.

The preview blurb for the following week says they're going to Saskatoon.

That means leg 7 will be the earliest they might leave Canada, this is the longest stretch without leaving the country since season one, when they never left.

Weren’t they almost cancelling the show due to costs? Makes sense they don’t leave till
There are less teams to travel.

Are they leaving the country this time? I'm starting to think they probably aren't. The first year, I was really disappointed when I learned it was all within Canada, but it turned out to be okay. I think I would tire of the show quickly if they eliminated the international aspect of it/

I'm sure without Air Canada or a travel sponsor they are staying in Canada.

Expedia is their travel sponsor this season.

According to this, they have more sponsors this season than any previous one: http://mediaincanada.com/2019/06/19/...-for-sponsors/

It's also the most-watched show in Canada during the summer, so I don't think it's in any danger of cancellation. They might decide to stay in Canada based on what the sponsors are looking to promote.

The thing I always found odd was when they did the international trips for only one leg at a time, then fly back to Canada. I believe they did that because of the Air Canada sponsorship and they only flew AC routes. Now, that they're not tied to that, they should leave the country for a few more legs at a time to cut down the costs. It's not like domestic travel is entirely cheap in Canada.

I was flipping through the Sun the other day, and caught an article/interview with Jon. It had some mild/minor spoilers for the season/next episode.

Anyone have an idea of when this was filmed? We were at the wild play adventure park there in April.

When they were in Edmonton there was a sign that said something like "May Road Closure" so it was sometime April to May, I would guess.

That was a frustrating episode to watch. I really have a hard time watching those 2 sad excuses for human beings. Though it was nicely countered by Aarthy and Thinesh, and all the other camaraderie going on.

Yeah, I can’t remember a team on any Amazing race that I’ve hated before. What a useless team. I have no idea how they won two legs.

This leg was really poorly designed. When multiple teams take the penalty and it starts to look like it will be shorter than the task, that's not a good thing.

Dave and Irina really are horrible human beings.

I loved how all the other racers that were there at the end hugged, and Dave and Irina just stood off to the side. Yes, everyone hates you.

I thought Aarthy and Vinesh were crazy for not using their express pass, but I loved how that whole situation with them and Anthony and James turned out in the end. Normally I think "It's a race!" but they each were able to help each other and tie for second right in front of Dave and Irina. Beautiful! Although for a moment when Jon said, "However..." I was worried that they were going to be penalized for not going into the cave to find the letters.

Only disappointment with this leg was that Dave and Irina were not eliminated, but at least this way we can (hopefully) see them get beat down again in the future!

"I hope the goats bite him. Like, right in the ass."

This week, there were so many penalties taken, it was like watching the Battle of Alberta in the 80s.

It is a poorly-designed task when it's better to take a penalty than finish it. They should change the penalty rules so that it's the penalty time added to the amount of time it took the slowest team to complete the challenge.

That was quite impressive that James knew the clue without even doing the challenge.
  1. Sarah & Sam (Win a trip to Machu Picchu, Peru)
  2. Anthony & James
  3. Aarthy & Thinesh
  4. Trish & Amy (2 hour penalty)
  5. Dave & Irina (2 hour penalty)
  6. Lauren & Joanne (2 hour penalty)
  7. Meaghan & Marie (2 hour penalty)
  8. Gilles & Sean
  9. Nicki & Aisha
  10. Jet & Dave

Next week...

Probably another non-elimination leg.

Wikipedia says the whole season was shot from April 23 – May 18, 2019. This was the 5th of 11 episodes, so it was probably early May.
