Of course she is. Trillions of people in the Star Wars Galaxy but everyone is related somehow.

That only feels like an abnormal coincidence if you also believe that the films are about any one of the trillions of random inhabitants of the galaxy.
It feels like a whole lot less of a coincidence through the lens of a series of films about a specific family. Even if Rey isn't part of that family, she is now connected to it by her association with Han/Chewie and her force powers etc.
It would be a pretty boring movie if they made it all about that other orphan who knew who her parents were and it turned out they were regular old crop farmers on Dantouine VI, with no association with the alliance, the force or the Skywalkers, and she lived to old age with hardly a commotion in her life and died peacefully in the arms of her family.

I for one cant wait for the Owen and Beru Lars film.
2 hours of replacing Power Converters, maintaining Moisture Vapourators, purchasing dodgy second hand Droids and lessons in how to speak Bocce interspersed with the occasional foray into Tosche Station to file his Farming Registration papers in triplicate.
Aw...yeah!
Granted, we know how this movie ends.

Interesting to go from Return of the Jedi to the last Jedi in two films. At least they didn't go with The First Order Strikes Back thankfully.
My prediction: the planet Jedah ends up joining the First Order so in order to quell controversy in the galactic war the Jedi change their name to the House of Windsor

Didn't the planet Jedah go boom in Rogue 1?

Spoiler! I thought they had the Death Star on low power mode and only destroyed the temple.

I get it now!
After Rogue One all of the Ethnic people were killed and only the British were left, unfortunately this planet was colonized by people from the Northern Midlands and 'Jedi' was eventually bastardized into 'Jedah.'
It all makes sense now.

Or.. with that name more than likely he is actually a character in a MMO and Luke was already taken.

But the cost of that printer ink for that extra letter. It adds up. Not sure Disney would go for it if George didn't.

Well duh, she kills him and turns to the dark side. Kylo gets pulled back to the light and has to turn her in Episode IX in "Reverse of the Jedi."
EDIT: Damn, same printer ink problem. Switch of the Jedi?

Great title. Just be better than TFA.
I heard Johnson was aiming for funny, and to test the main characters and push them to their limits. Which is good to hear, cause they sure seemed to magically and conveniently figure a lot of things out as they went in VII. It made the movie brisk, but also hard to believe, even while based in a sci-fi fantasy universe set in a galaxy far away.

That would actually be cool.
Now I want that to happen. Rey would make a better baddie than Kylo. She has an intense rage face. Also all those Palpatine-esque stabbing lunge moves? Clearly foreshadowing. She just needs a touch of force lightning to her face to really drive it home.

Considering he came out of a Skywalkers lady bits, yes he is.
Also you could argue that this story isn't a Skywalker story, but the story of two droids caught up in Intergalactic shenanigans
