That was at least a hockey play, by a smaller guy trying to finish his check.
He is still responsible for the hit and deserves something, but I have no idea how anyone could watch that hit vs others we've seen and understand the punishments handed out.
Clean body check, not in the back, but the guy gets hurt? Suspension.
Byron leaves his feet and catches his head with his shoulder into the boards. Clearly the head was the primary point of contact. How is that not worthy of a suspension? And I agree Elbows to the head should be a suspension. This one looks like a clear case of a guy being a bit too reckless and crushing a guys head.

Definitely a head shot. Thought he’d get a game or two, three is a bit surprising but I have no problem with it.
Understandable why people are still miffed at the Kunitz elbow, a clear head shot that was missed, or ignored, by the league. They really whiffed on that one.

Yeah he left his feet pretty good there. He even uses his arms to elevate himself. And by that I mean, his body language going in. He opens his arms up and waits for him to turn and then jumps up into him with max force.

I don't know how to load pics on here, but freeze the vid right before contact (any camera angle), he has him lined up with the shoulder to Weegar's chest. Then moves laterally into him.
I think what happens is that Weegar pulls back a bit to avoid the hit and Byron goes right under his shoulder. As a result, he then makes contact with the head because Weegar is bent forward (but only because Byron's shoulder went right under Weegar's chest.
There are more egregious checks almost every night. This one is just unfortunate contact.

Clean body check? That should have been called a major + game on the ice. He jumped into a guy's head. It is absolutely the right call to suspend Byron.

Unfortunate contact as the result of a charging penalty.
