You can trade 2nd rounders for established starting goalies. It's always too early to draft them.

Did I read that he went undrafted in the OHL? From that to starter shows he has grown his game a lot and has the desire to succeed. Good attribute for a goalie.

Seems pretty clear the Flames have decided the ECHL is going to be the starting point for goalie development going forward. MacDonald will be there this year. Parsons in a few years.

Even if you aren't thrilled about picking a goalie, at least they picked a guy who has the winning pedigree. Looking at highlights of him, he does remind me a bit of Jonathan Quick in how he moves. I'm on board.

He pretty much won the starting job as a 16 year old which is weird for an undrafted guy unless the Knights pulled him away from the NCAA route.

Not a huge fan of drafting goalies in the first two rounds since they are always such a crapshoot (and you can trade a 2nd for a solid goalie pretty much all the time).
But considering it's not the deepest of drafts, it's perhaps more of a crapshoot these days than usual.

Loubo's one word: Battler.
Says he didn't get enough credit for the team's success.

He moves like Jonathan Quick. I like it. Impressed the heck out of me in the Memorial Cup final.

Oh this is another one of those moments where we're grading draft picks that haven't played a game in the NHL yet? OK got it.

Before you say it's a waste of a pick, PLEASE go to YouTube and watch some highlights of this guy. He is really really good and I agree with the philosophy of continuing to draft goalies until one develops.

We need like 5 right handed forwards in the system!

Not a fan of the pick. Weak year for goaltenders and they use their best 2nd on a goaltender? I sometimes wonder about their goals. Hopefully this kid works out.

goalies are so tough to project... i'd rather wait till the 3-4 rd before drafting goalies because there are so many good players still available in the second round...

Obviously there weren't any that were BPA where we picked. Would you rather the team pick who they feel is the lesser prospect because they shoot right handed?
