Verdict - burger at Elbow Room was really good. Decent sized portion without being too heavy. Bun was only ok but burger was tender and really tasty. Would go back.

Worth noting- Lot 102 at 10st NW and Memorial does a $4 burger and fries special on Tuesday with a drink purchase. It's a loss leader for sure- more like a $12-15 burger.
Specials here, the burger isn't quite as good as in the picture.

How many times has that location changed hands over the last 20 years? So many it's hard to keep track.

It's a tale of two corners. How does Julio's survive, in spite of its mediocre offerings, while everything that has been on the other side of 10th, which by all accounts are great restaurants, will die within a year or two is something that needs to be studied. Is it the parking or the lack of signage along 10th St. that does it? Do the would-be restaurateurs know the history? I can't seem to find any of the previous incarnations of restaurants at that location on Yelp or Google. It's like they disappeared from the history books.

Pepperidge Farms remembers...err, I mean Google streetview remembers...lets see in 2007 we have "Ten..." something. Looks to have just opened. In 2009, "Robbie Stewarts". 2012, "The Bottle House". 2016 "Lot 102". I think there may have been something between The Bottle House and Robbie Stewarts though.

One is the only mexican place within how far?
The other is an average to below average pub with there are 20 within 3 blocks that actually have parking and are not next to memorial?

Bodega has Mexican/Carribbean one block north of Julios, and is much better food.

Spicy Amigos, just across the bridge on 4th Ave, also much better.

Not too far away (14th St and 11th ave) is La Casa Latina but I have not tried it yet.

Julios does well because of the patios, and bulldogs (margaritas and beer). Their food is mainly made in Edmonton, frozen, and brought here.

I wasn't claiming Julios was any good, just suggesting why it was busy. I refuse to eat there to be honest.
Bodega wasn't very good the couple times I have had it. The other 2 are not in the sunnyside/kensington area really.

I'd say the first two are more street-food take-out places. La Casa Latina looks more like a restaurant.

Well that burger in their web page looks pretty tasty. If that represents what they serve I may have to give the place a try before it shuts down.

I wonder if Jiri is up for another Burger Quest. Have his arteries unhardened, yet?

Burger Quest was great. Would have never heard of Naina's otherwise.

I still haven't tried the stuffed burger at Naina's.
I dropped in there after there was an initial news article about it (pre-Burger Quest), only to be told there is a 40 minute wait for a stuffed burger. That kind of screwed up my lunch plans, and I ended up having a regular burger which was not something to write home about. I am not sure if they are set up more efficiently in their new place on 17th. If she's known for the stuffed burgers, probably wise to only stick to that and sides.

I think that is the thing that we are most proud about. That we had a hand in helping a great small business survive. She was on the verge of closing and when our review hit and we talked about her on cbc she suddenly was packed. Ultimately it was all about her great food but I'm happy we were able to help
I was actually out for lunch today with one of my old BQ mates. We always talk about bringing it back but in reality neither of us have time. And yeah my doc would probably get a court order disallowing it

Big fan of the original location when I worked up in the NE.
I live near Marda Loop, and the quality is just as good.
