The offensive line has been terrible, it's hard for Reilly to complete passes when he's flat on his back. As far as the defense is concerned, nobody can seem to tackle.

He's actually got a very strong team in BC, and the coaching, the schemes and the playcalling are awful.
If BC struggles, like this through the year, Devone's done at the end of the year.
This is a case of him being promoted way to soon. I also think that he's not being supported by his assistants very well.
He had a stellar cast of coaches in Calgary that really worked the positions. I'm looking at fundemental play by the oline and receivers and its awful.

I agree with you in regards to Claybrooks but disagree it's a strong team. Offensive line is worst in the league and when Lamar Durant is your 2nd best receiver you have skill position problems. I don't see a lot of standouts on defense. Aaron Grymes wearing orange is probably fitting seeing he's a pylon in the secondary and Odell Willis is 34 years old. It's a bad team.

Reilly should have left a little bit of $$ on the table to allow Hervey to build an Oline that can protect him. He's not getting any younger back there. I hope he doesnt get hurt this season.

Yeah, the offensive line is bad, especially the tackles.
At the same time, what kind of blue idiot on a second and long when you know that the pressure is coming and they're blitzing 7 calls all 9's or deep routes, you're getting your QB killed. Its stupid play calling, and Reilly gets the red finger of shame for not audibling out of that.

Over the last 3/4 years there's been a lot of love for Reilly over BLM (a lot being bitter Riders fans) as best QB in the league but I think we are starting to see the value of Mitchel's quick decision making and release. Quarterbacks with quick releases take a lot of pressure off offensive lines and make them look better than they are and I think that has happened to an extent in Calgary. I just don't think Reilly is as complete a QB as he's still looking to throw those 50/50 deep balls and he doesn't have the tall receivers to bring those in or the line to give him the time. He's going to have to adapt to throwing more short/intermediate or he's not going to make it through this season.

This is the big thing -- Reilly got a lot of yards and touchdowns by hanging in the pocket and going deep to guys like Duke Williams and Derel Walker. That's not happening anymore.
I'm also not sold on Jarious Jackson as OC -- Claybrooks is obviously a defensive guy so it's pretty much resting on his shoulders. Bringing in two rookie assistants (Nik Lewis and Drew Tate) probably doesn't help, and Chiu and Howell both have relatively short coaching resumes as well.

When anyone beats your cover team running east west, let alone a guy that's not very fast, jobs should be lost immediately.

Well, the Lawfirm has shown brief glimpses of good play, but the defense objected to him leading the receiver and picked him clean.

This is a just a disgusting display by Toronto. Reminds me of our 50 point beat down of them on opening day last year.

Not really. It’s been BenJarvus Green-Ellis’ nickname in the NFL for about a decade before this.
