Thankfully overturned, but ridiculous it occurred in the first place.

Is it?

Maybe I'm missing context here, but the latest Gay Panic defense was used in 2015 and the defendant lost, For Trans Panic the latest in that page was 2014 and the defendant ended up getting a 12 year sentence because they hit him with a hate crime charge.

It looks like a bunch of the states have already or are in the process of banning panics as a legal defense?

The Democrats tried to introduce legislation to outlaw it federally this year and you'll never guess what happened...

I don't know American State and Federal Laws all that well, but isn't this something that sits at the State level?

Or wouldn't this be something that would be bought in by the supreme courts and not congress?

I'm not trying to be a smart arse here, but if States are legislating it out as a legal defense option, why would the Federal Level be required to legislate it?

I think if you legislate it at the federal level, the States would have to remove it but I could be wrong here. The Supreme Court would only be involved if someone challenged that removing it is unconstitutional.

And hence the name of the thread...how we (as a society) tolerate all of this blatant bull-poo is beyond me.
But I digress.

Wow. Some real pearl clutchers in this thread. It's a hoodie and it's fashion. It should be edgy and avant garde.

^word. Despite a take on a particular fashion, the piece elicited raw emotions with nothing more than the name of one of many scars on society. The very notion, a school name so synonymous with misery and woe, as so commonplace that it’s just another slogan, a profit machine for someone, is played on by the varsity take. It’s enraging by its very nature, and that is its point.
I believe the designer is far more artistic than capitalist here. But I haven’t slept in days so who knows.

Very sad and suspicious. Key witness that helped convict Amber Guyger for the murder of Botham Jean in his apartment has been shot to death.

I read an article on that earlier. That definitely seems suspicious.
