Hah. I like that that was Landeskog. The PBP guy was wrong trying to defend it by saying his skate was on the line. Since he'd come from the D zone the line was part of that zone.

Now this is one time when the offside challenge really works. Not those ticky tacky ones where they have to zoom in and go frame by frame with fuzzy puck, fuzzy skates, and fuzzy line and come to any sort of indisputable conclusion.

Except this is one of those times where it had zero bearing on the goal and really isn't within the spirit of the rule. I don't like taking down an otherwise great goal for a technicality.

CBC never showed a conclusive replay. Kept pausing it at the wrong time then cutting.

Offside is offside. Not sure how you could argue against this one.

I think he got sucked away from the post a bit because he either thought it was going far side or for a pass across. Either way, he left a lot of room short side, considering Donskoi came from behind that side of the net.

Once your skate comes into contact with the blue line, you're considered onside again. You don't need to fully leave the zone.

True.

The ruling was that the Avs player's foot was off the ice...hence it was offside.

I thought the blue line was part of whatever zone you are in. Stand corrected.

I bet the fact he as an extra man as well might have made them feel better about calling it off.

MacKinnon had a beef there. Maybe he fell down and rolled around it might have been called. He tried to keep going, bad choice on his part.

It looked conclusively with their replays.

They never showed where Landeskog was standing when MacKinnon crossed the line. Kept pausing when the puck crossed.

Did anybody mention what appeared to be the love child of Tormund and Joe Thornton behind the bench?

I don’t like the offside call. It’s a guy leaving the ice surface, not affecting the play. The door is slightly inside the blue line.

Technically may be correct but not in the spirit of the call

I also don’t see clearly that the skate is fully in the white
