And added 1 MacKinnon.... which aren’t exactly easy to come by.

So, five minor penalties in 9 games equates to "living in the penalty box".
Who knew?

Well no. They already had Mackinnon back in 2014, and if I remember correctly, he also had a monster rookie playoffs. Guy just started sucking for a few years immediately afterwards.

You mean 10 minor penalties in 9 games, and its the kind of penalties he takes that I don't like. Tripping and hooking are not qualities I like in a D man.
[Edit: I was wrong you were right. It is 5 minors and a 10 minute misconduct].
During this last season he was 6th in number of penalties taken. 30 of his 33 penalties were minors. I should add that he did this in 70 games.
The year before he was 3rd in the league in number of penalties taken. He was second in the league in number of minor penalties having taken 39. He did this in 78 games.

Which is why Flames fans shouldn't assume the team can't win in the playoffs with Monahan and Gaudreau. There's a lot of randomness from year to year and timing is everything.

For sure, but few players have looked as good as MacKinnon as he always looked next level.
Not disputing your point, but I just don't put any Flames player at his talent level. Guys like that always have a chance to win IMO.

I heard the Capitals can't win with Ovechkin. People were right, until he won.

Which coincided with him rounding out his game. He started backchecking and playing hard defense while also scoring 50 goals a year and won a cup.
Our core has room for growth still. .

no, it coincided with Kuznetsov emerging as a bonafide superstar #1C.

Exactly what happened with Ovechkin and that change greatly attributed to the Caps Stanley Cup success
The coaches and his teammates all concurred.

Halfway through the game and it is still scoreless. The shots are 25-11 in favour of the Sharks.

That goal going in for the Sharks is a big relief, I'll bet... they've deserved to win this game, just like last game, and haven't gotten any luck. Reminiscent of large stretches of their series against Vegas last year too. Pretty frustrating to watch if you're cheering for neither team, honestly.
Karlsson looks excellent tonight.

They're double shifting a rookie with zero regulation games.
Avs have been propped up by Grubauer for 2 months.

What a difference in ice time for MacKinnon compared to the Calgary series.

Nathan MacKinnon 0 points -1 Homas Tertl 2 goals. Doesn't look like the Avs will find a way to win one in San Jose.

This series should be over by now, if not for sharks bad luck. Really shows how garbage the flames were to be dominated over a 5 game series.
