Nope, I will not cheer for an Oilers win. Can't do it. Maybe before McDingus was there ...maybe...but that team is the absolute dooshiest team there is in all the lands. Eff those goobers.

Gross thread.

Either way is fine. Oilers lose, the tumble to elimination begins early. Oilers win, Flames are one step closer to the Canucks being the last hurdle to Sutter playoffs.

Koskinen in goal today for the Oilers. Allen for the Habs.

Ah, to end our suffering quickly.

How kind of Edmonton to get a loss to Montreal over with by the first period.

Koskinen will be more motivated than Smith would be

Figured they would start him. Koskinen is a goalie with no confidence right now.

Yeah, Koskinen is going to want to rebound from last game. And you would think the Oilers would want to win it for him to give him some confidence. Smith could implode or get hurt at any time.

They are far more interested in getting McLottery to 2 points per game this season. That is the kind of glory that lives forever.

When he hit 100 pts, r/hockey was full of Oiler fans (and others) saying stupid ass #### like this is the single greatest achievement since Wayne's 215 point season (nevermind those seasons by Mario, Jagr, etc), even some Oiler fans saying this is the pinnacle of their Oiler fandom.

McDavid getting to 112 points is their Stanley Cup.
McDavid. 4 points, minus 3.

I really don't want to wait a full year to see Darryl in a playoff setting, so still hoping.

I’d love nothing more than to sneak into the playoffs. Having the opportunity to knock both the Leafs and Oilers out. That would be better then winning the cup.

It would truly be the reverse of the 18/19 season where the regular season was so much fun scoring a ton of goals and winning 50 games. The playoffs were a quick and swift kick to the nuts.

This has easily been the most frustrating season since the 09/10 year for me and it is almost next to impossible to make the playoff but wouldn’t it be something to sneak in and go on a run?

I bet on Montreal today. Pretty easy let down spot for the oilers.

In a province ridden with strife and discontent over COVID and the provincial governments response, Brad Treliving the unifier has done something that nobody thought was possible, built a team so bad that Flames fans in unison chant "Go Oilers Go" for two straight games in hopes of staying in the playoff hunt. Truly a moment to bring all Albertans together.

The Flames will be fired up if the stinkers actually come through for them though.

Imagine being Habs fans watching the Flames slowly eat away at your lead over the course of a week.

Even if I wasn't a Flames fan I would want Montreal to lose 2. There were basically zero playoff races and it would be hilarious if the Habs had to sit around sweating. Gary would also be butt hurt having to wait for the playoffs...they scheduled these games thinking the Canucks and Flames were done.

Toronto would be sweating a little too.

Flames have played them close all year and by all accounts the preference among fans is MTL.

It could make for a very fun week with all eyes on Sutter's party crashers.
