in all seriousness though the Raiders are making the playoffs and are a good team. 5-3 with major injuries/covid and a ridiculously tough schedule thus far

Yes.
Oakland is a good team. Only team to beta the Chiefs this season and it wasn't a fluke; they stomped them.
Their schedule softens up now, too. Should be in good shape, but watch out for Miami!

Yeah the Raiders look good but they have to really win their conference games to assure a spot. They are 3-2 there now...can only afford probably one more loss in that column.
It will be between the Raiders/Browns/Dolphins and Colts for 2 spots.

As you can see all the teams tied with them are .500 or worse in the conference so they could easily lose another conference game and remain in the playoffs. Also their strength of schedule and strength of victory is better than all AFC teams currently holding a playoff spot.

The defense is still terrible so they will only go as far as the offense takes them so if something happens to Carr or they slump offensively they will be in trouble.

I was saying they could lose one easily and it wouldn't make much of a difference. You are saying if they can only afford to lose one more which I don't think is the case as the teams below them aren't exactly lighting things up in conference play and the Raiders hold a lot of other tiebreakers over those teams.

I thought I read somewhere Brown was on Brady's list of players he wanted if he signed with a team (Gronk as well), so they likely didn't have a choice if they wanted TB12 happy.
