These aren’t spoilers, they are just theories.

I hope it’s not Tilly though. That just totally cements Tilly as the crew’s Wesley. But we had a few more seasons before Wesley became a Traveler.

My theory is it is Tasha Yar. That black mud pit was actually a black hole to another dimension that exists beyond time, and she's come back to warn the federation not to make Star Trek series set before DS9 anymore.

Except that it was Riker who was sucked in. Yar was just hit by some force that left the blotch on her cheek.

Or to force her past self not to quit the show because it would effectively end her career.

Her inability to act ended Crosby's career.

That didn't stop Gates McFadden.

This show is a big pile of "meh", and yet I keep watching just because I'm a Trek nerd. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Orville is kicking Discovery's ass.

Star Trek Discovery is quickly becoming very high on my delete recording list.
I honestly struggle to watch episodes and constantly find myself getting distracted and disinterested.

I hope it picks up soon as I am a Star Trek fan, but this, this is like a horrible tough steak that I struggle to chew through and end up feeding to the dog.

Sorry for posting my negative take on this thread but I had to express my disappointment.

I am very much enjoying Discovery this season and even last despite its flaws, and hope to read and contribute about the storylines, characters and lore in this thread for the duration of the series.

Anson Mount is close to becoming my 2nd or 3rd favourite captain. Just the right combination of Starfleet regulations, calm but slightly humorous demeanour, and a touch of that cowboy mentality that always puts captains in harms way more often than necessary. If only he wasn’t destined to end up as a head in a wheeled box.

McFadden was a very well known choreographer before and after her time with Star Trek.

My big complaint is that in the future, don’t they have remote piloting capabilities? Why would a captain, let alone anyone, need to physically pilot a shuttle? We already have drones in present time.

I watched the Short Trek episodes. Kind of a neat little experiment. Had no idea they existed, as I don't have Crave, haven't kept up the the news, social media, or maybe because i'm stuck in my own Casue and Effect-type situation and have watched them a few dozen, possibly hundreds of times already.............

Tilly's episode was kind of a fun, self contained episode, and Saru;s backstory episode seems essential.

The Harry Mudd one was disappointing. I don't think the episode was bad (it was a clever tale that gives Mudd a story of his own) I just didn't care? he's always been a bit lost on me. I was never much of a TOS fan, and I only know he was in TOS after discussions online revealed that to me. In Discovery S1, his humourous part to play was played and... that was that. I guess I would have been fine never to have seen him again

The fourth I've yet to watch, only because I haven downloaded it yet.

I'm not sure how her being a choreographer has anything to do with her acting abilities.

It predates Next Generation, DS9 and Voyageur by over 100 years and they still had shuttle pilots in those timelines.

I know, and I suppose since those Trek shows predate present day drones and UAVs, they can't go back and erase the flub. That's fine.

But... they can clearly avoid using human piloted shuttles that are just being used launch a probe. They have the technology to build a probe that does its own thing once launched - can't they do the same with a shuttle?

That would make for pretty boring TV though.
