I have been playing this game a long time and it has only dones this once to me before, probably about 1.5 years ago when you guys were getting a bunch of people all signing up.

I too am on Android and am still having fun playing it.

Alliances = more resources (as they are pooled together).

Hey guys,

Just wanted to drop a quick note to those of you who are still playing the game. Due to lack of time to develop the game further and an embarrassing level of support from us, we've decided to shut down Own This World. The server will be shut down on March 31, 2014.

We've had a good 4+ years run with the game and the initial local push of the game was largely helped by the folks on Calgary Puck who played. So I wanted to say thanks helping us get the game off the ground.

Sorry Morozee. There wasn't really a good time to end the game but it had gotten to the point where we had to decide to extend our hosting or not and the guys and I just don't have time to work on or support the game.

We're looking into selling or transferring ownership of the game and code so if we get someone interested in it the game may keep going. No guarantees though.

Are you going to shut things down in a blaze of glory? Giant nuke? Asteroid? Please don't just unplug it...it has to be something more spectacular.

Also, thanks for the game. I haven't played in a few years, but I had a lot of fun for a few months with the game, which is longer than I've ever played with any app. I was particularly pleased with myself when I was in BC one summer and I followed around where Russic had been stealing all of his land. He seemed so mad at me and I cherished that anger.

I have not been playing for a month or so, as Ingress has kind of replaced it for me.

Was a really good run for you guys though, like Cliver, I have never had an app keep my attention so long.

Totally agree. I was always impressed when I'd turn the game on in the middle of nowhere American to see 10-15 people had been fighting over a truck stop area in Carolina/Virigina or Rural Quebec.

Such a great game guys and thanks for making it. It'll always be one of my favourite iPhone apps.
