Thought this was relevant.

That kid who is taunting him in the video needs a solid lesson. How ignorant and mean. If it were me, I would have undressed, walked through the stands and confronted him. See how big he really is when there's no glass between.

All of this hits very close to home. Even now in rec leagues we play on a predominate asian team. We unfortunately see, and hear the worst in people. As of late in Calgary the specific league we are playing in, we have had more than 20 incidents due to the color of our skin (I've personally been jumped twice). I feel a lot of people get lost in old ways and old mentaility and forget that we are all out here to play the game we love. It's sad but still happening to this day.

Good thing I don't play hockey. Bad things would happen to those people in the parking lot after the game.

Saw this on the news last night. There was no audio (or I could not hear it) so we do not know exactly what was said but it's shameful that nobody stepped in to stop what the kid was saying. Fans, security, the home team - nobody seemed to do anything except take videos on their phones.

No doubt that the internet can and has gone too far in a relatively small number of cases, but to suggest that those rare mistakes or miscarriages of justice is in anyway worse than real racism is not a defensible position.

Is being Prejudice, such as your quote, all that much better than racism?

I do not understand why black people calling each other a n**** is OK, but when others say it, it is racist...

It's not rocket appliance here. For hundreds of years that word was used derogatory by white people, it doesn't have the same connotation (usually) when used by other black people. Just don't say it, it's not that hard. If it bothers you that you can't use a racist word, then you need to seriously reevaluate how ####ty of a person you are.

I was just south of Chinook Centre last year where someone told me to go back to where I came from. Interestingly, I was born in Canada. By his appearance i would guess his heritage is the Caribbean.

Why can’t we ignore colour, religion and sexuality and just get long?
