C'mon Bennett and Jankowski. See what your not playing well is doing to people?

One thing is for sure, the mix in our bottom six is not working. Lucic and Rieder have essentially picked up where they left off last season and Peters hate-on for common sense things like

- Bennett at center instead of Jankowski
- Austin Czarnik in the lineup instead of Rieder/Janko/Lucic
- Hanifin on the point for PP2
- Limiting Janko's role on the PK until he gets some confidence going
- Oliver Kylington in the lineup creating chances

have led to a thorough underperformance of our bottom six.

Doesn't mean some of these things cannot still be corrected, but we can't just keep square peg / round hole-ing.

I think that Bennett should be centering the 3rd line and Jankowsi should be LW on the 4th. Really, a move should be made to get a 2nd line RWer, too many Lwers.

As bad as the bottom 6 has been and as not good as Bennett has been, Janko is far and away the biggest problem on this team right now.

He needs to not play NHL games for now because he's been nothing but a total on-ice liability.

Do yourself a favour (and the rest of us, frankly), and just stop.

Jankowski hasn't been great, no question. But fans need to relax there as well. So far this season - a whole 5 games in - the Flames haven't been firing on all cylinders, and haven't been winning enough. SO fans want to lay blame. But the fact is that there have been a lot of players that haven't been great so far:

Jankowski
Bennett
Backlund (was better last game, which is incouraging
Lucic (and Neal has been hot, so people are angry about that)
Ryan
Frolik
Mangiapane has been inconsistent
Tkachuk has been inconsistent

In other words, the Flames haven't been great so far. But people need to relax with the finger pointing and the 'this guy isn't an NHLer' refrain.

It's been 5 games. They are a deep team and none of the players listed above are as bad as some fans are currently trying to make them out to be.

PSA: Ignore anyone who thought the Neal for Lucic deal was good.

I honestly don't know how many would call it "good", but there are certainly many that aren't over reacting to a PDO heater in Edmonton and thinking the sky is falling.

Two crap players exchanged for each other at an age where they are not going to get better.

Meh, I'm seeing enough effort from Lucic that I can live with it.
Neal scoring in Edmonton is a big who the eff cares and why should you kind of thing. He was simply not going to do that here under Peter's. Just wasn't. The fact the trade was made tells you all you need to know.

Bennett will eventually settle. I'm as perplexed with his start as anyone. Still not giving up on him. Hes going to eventually figure out that Playoff Bennett can also be reg season Bennett.

Not overly surprised by the outcome, LV at home are 5-0 vs Flames.

Baby steps. Last night was the first game in Las Vegas in which the Flames have managed to secure a lead.

They'll get them next time.
