His 12 goals and 22 points would have put him 6th amongst Edmonton forwards last year. So he is a legit upgrade on their bottom 6.
Of course, Edmonton will end up slotting him on the top line so it doesn't really matter.
Also, Toby Rieder scored 12 goals in 2017/18 (split between Arizona and LA). We know how that turned out last year...

He had our number by scoring no points and being on the ice for some goals against?

Yeah he was fast, and outskated most of our guys on the rush. I remember quite vividly. Not the worst pickup for Edmonton.
