Flames Beesley injured after falling

After falling 5-6 feet off a stage Wednesday night, Beesley is in hospital recovering some pretty significant injuries. Thankfully it sounds like he will make a full recovery.

https://globalnews.ca/news/5486978/b...na-voice-fall/

Beesley, the arena announcer for the Calgary Flames, is recovering from multiple injuries after falling off the stage at Roundup MusicFest on Wednesday night.

Beesley broke the majority of his ribs and suffered a broken collarbone and broken wrist, according to his family.

If he needs some time off to heal maybe we can draft in Jim Brockmire.

I may be in a minority, but I don't necessary miss the voice of Beesley yelling out "Your Calgarrrrrrrrrrrrrrry Flamesssssssssssssssss!!"

I think he's awesome, and I love how he announces the Flames. I've met him a handful of times at the Dome & at events and he's a great guy too. Well wishes for a full recovery.

Bring back Russ Peake.

Seriously though, sounds like a tough fall. Hope he recovers completely without lasting effects.

I broke one rib and it was debilitating. Multiple ribs would be put-me-out-of-my-misery awful.

Calgaryboy - Petr Indra got a chance to meet Beesley when he was in Calgary a few years ago.

In all honesty, Beesley is the best announcer in the league. His goal calls in the 04 playoff run were legendary, and they gave me goosebumps. Anyone who disagrees should compare him with any other announcer. They don't come close.

Does the feller have a full name? Or is this a Cher/Madonna/Prince gimmick?

I broke 3 ribs once and yeah, that was a brutal summer. Cant cough, cant laugh can barely breathe.

I've had more injuries that I can even remember for the most part and the broken ribs was among the worst.

Just brutal.

People are always concerned about the Horses but nobody ever thinks about the poor arena announcers.
