Default Heat captain Aaron Johnson signs in Germany

Heat will have a new captain next season and the will also help relieve the log jam at D next season.

With Nakladal graduating, he was their only vet on the back end

They probably bring back Stevenson who will be 27 when the season starts.

Huska is a big fan and he wore an "A" last season.

Yeah, going to be a very young D group in Stockton next season.

I wonder if they bring Stevenson back on another AHL deal? He's a 6 year pro and wore an A last season IIRC.

Going into next season:

1. (22) Kulak - 3rd year pro
2. (22) Culkin - 3rd year pro
3. (22) Sieloff - 3rd year pro (missed a full season)
4. (24) Morrison - 2nd year pro
5. (19) Kylington - 2nd year pro
6. (20) Anderssen - 1st year pro
7. (21) Kanzig - 1st year pro

Wotherspoon (23) if he gets sent down and clears waivers would be the big vet going into his 4th year pro.

Still also wondering if there's any chance we see Rafikov or OAM cross the pond next season too.

the official alternate captains were Elson, Hathaway and Riley, but Stevenson along with Hamilton did wear an A's with some regularity when there were injuries and veteran scratches. My guess for the captaincy is Turner Elson.

Id say there's a 0% chance he comes over to play in the AHL.

If he makes it as an established KHLer, he may take a swing at playing in the big show.

But there's really no reason for him to move halfway across the world to play minor league hockey.

Well that might be true if playing in the AHL didn't increase the odds of him playing in the NHL. The Flames would want the same from him as they did from Nakladal, he'd have to earn the job and go to the AHL and pay his dues if he didn't make the team.
